HARBOURING
NEGATIVITY WILL ONLY POISON YOU
A
SNAKE bite has never killed anyone - but sometimes the poison
emitted by the fangs and into the bloodstream has.
So, when you or somebody else does or says something that you
do not approve of, maybe let it be; it was said or done and cannot
be changed. You can't change it, they can't change it, not even
God can change it. Only you have the choice of keeping it alive
and letting it flow through your body like poison, or you can
embrace it (accept it) and allow it to be what it is.
Keeping it alive will only make you feel upset. This is why being
present is the only place to be. Everything is always perfect
in the present moment.
Only our imaginary thoughts about the past or the future can upset
us. Imaginary stuff is not real, cannot threaten us and does not
exist. Herein lies the perfect peace of the present moment - unconditional
love.
Love
and fear cannot coexist. They are at opposite ends of the spectrum.
TWO
MONKS AND THE SILK SLIPPERS
TWO
monks were walking along a muddy path next to a stream.
They encountered a young woman who, because she was wearing new
silk slippers, did not want to cross the stream, so the older
monk picked her up and carried her across.
The two monks continued their journey in silence.
After four hours, the student could not contain himself no longer,
so he asked the master why he had picked her up, as they were
not supposed to touch women.
The master replied: "I put her down four hours ago. Why are you
still carrying her?"
