LUCCA
Leadership South Africa (LLSA) was founded in 2006 after a trial
ITTL (Introduction to Transformational Leadership) weekend course
was held near Cape Town.
A
handful of participants were so inspired by the experience that
they made plans to formally launch Lucca Leadership in South Africa.
LLSA is modelled on the global structure and vision while remaining
independent and is thus able to meet South African needs in full
view. The connection with the global Lucca Leadership affiliates,
namely in the UK, Ireland, Australia and North America, plays
a vital role in enabling LLSA to learn and benefit from a structured
model that is central to each affiliate. The Lucca Leadership
Trust was started, based on a need to establish a youth-based
leadership organisation that would inspire and empower young people
who wanted to make a difference in their communities.
The central ethos of the trust is that "anyone can make a difference".
LLSA runs week-long and shorter courses in transformational leadership
which enable young people of all backgrounds to discover their
purpose, clarify their vision and develop the skills needed to
make change happen for the benefit of all. The vision is to be
a catalyst for positive change by developing young leaders who
wish to make a positive difference.
Instead
of focusing on one of the many social challenges faced in South
Africa, such as education, crime or poverty reduction, Lucca Leadership
SA supports and develops young people who want to make the difference
themselves by equipping them with skills and confidence to take
on these issues in order bring about real change.
Candidates are those who are making positive change in the world
or who are ready to take that step forward. Whether they're volunteering
for a grassroots community project, running a large organisation,
creating art that inspires and uplifts or just lightening the
lives of those around them, we're looking for people who believe
in service and meeting the needs around them, people who want
to change the world in whatever way they can.

Real transformative leadership that empowers people will make
a difference at an individual, organisational, national and indeed,
a global level. Lucca Leadership South Africa is a registered
trust IT667/2007 with 18A tax exemption status set up in 2006
by alumni who attend the leadership programmes in Italy. We are
part of a global organisation with affiliates in the UK, Australia,
North America and Ireland.
